Is there a Princess in the House?

I made this darling vintage princess door sign for a friend's grand daughter. It came out so sweet. I love the soft colors, and sponged edges for the vintage appeal. Also used my slice for the princess letters. Love that machine. Best invention. I am hoping to make a couple more of these for some of my friend's other little girls. Pay attention to the added dangling gems for the bling bling effect that I love.

Memories of the Holiday

Just a couple of shots of my tree from the Christmas Holiday. Sadly enough coming down this weekend. Happy New Year to everyone!

Holidays Approaching

I love the vintage musical sheets, and using them with various color combinations. I also like the size of the 8x4 to try different design layouts. One of my favorites so far.

Snowy Day

I have really been trying to venture trying different techniques, and color combinations. There are some really talented women I have been inspired by their blogs. I really like the way this color combination turned out with the snowmen and snowflakes. Again, the slice is my friend with the snowflake, and then used vintage german glass glitter to polish it off.

'Tis the Season'

I am still a novice of course, but getting the hang of added stitching to the cards. Really adds a bit of personalization to the cards. Also, can not go without a lil' Santa Claus card here and there. Love the bling with the stickles and german glass glitter. 'Ho Ho Ho'.

'Ba Humbug'

I just could not pass up posting this shot of Louie. I don't think he is much of a fan of dressing up:)). Too funny.

Magical Christmas

I just love the vintage stamp set from a muse. I decided to do a more simplistic card then I have been doing recently. I did use liquid applique for the beard and hat. As well I applied stickles in 3 different colors for the hat. To help tie the gold tones in from the scalloped punches, I outlined the card with a gold tip pen. Even as simplistic as this is looking, a lot of detail with the embelishments was applied. Turned out very sweet.

Unconventional Christmas

I thought it would be fun to create some cards utilizing colors I would not normally consider traditional for Christmas. I love the geometric pattern in the decorative paper. Also love using embelishments that are unconventional such as the lace trimming. Adds a bit of softness to the look of the card. I added The SU felt snowflakes, polished off with a vintage button. Of course, the bling with the gems strategically placed. Still gives me the feeling of the holiday spirit.

Christmas Snowflakes

I love how sweet this stamp is. Looks just like the beginning of snow on a winter day. Used clear embossing for the tree, then sponged with red and brown. Also sponged the edges of the stamped image. The basic card is stamped with snow flakes in the distressed ink and red ink. Just to help highlight the layering of the brown and red framing. I love the ribbon colors, and how they compliment the colors I used to sponge and stamp. Of course could not go without a little bling, and added stickles to some of the tree's leaves. Really helps the image pop!

Holiday Color

I love the old world style of this Santa card.
I know the Santa's face came out a bit crooked,
but still love him anyway. The colors are soft,
yet really put me in the mood for the holidays.

I also love the more traditional designs and colors.
Don't these candy canes just make you want to eat
holiday treats over and over.

Christmas decorating

I found this old vintage bottle brush tree that is flocked and lit with multi colored lighting. (above) How enchanting.
Also, love mixing the old with the new, with the vintage snowman and other newer christmas decorations.
Also just adore the little vintage doll on my mantle. She is just so sweet and whimsical. (below)

I have always loved decorating for the holidays. Here are just a few shots (albeit, not that great of a photographer) of my christmas decorating for this year. And of course Louie had to get in the shot. What a ham.

Santa's Secret

A darling card with the vintage look of Santa sneaking into a home and putting presents under the tree. How sweet. I wish I could remember who's DP this is. I have also been playing around with the decorative embelishment with the music paper and vintage button. Turned out quite nice.

Angels and Snowflakes

This card represents the purity of the holidays. Just a sweet ideal for the season. Angels watching over all of us. I love including all of the embelishments I have gotten from some of the most darling websites, such as Melissa Frances and others. Just flashes me back in time of the good old days and enjoying all the anticipation of the holidays approaching.

Bundle up

Isn't she just the cutest little girl bundled up? I found this off of a website with many lovely vintage images. I just flash back to when I was growing up and all of he vintage ornaments, and decorations my mom would display. So glad this style has been revived.

Vintage Holidays

I just love these papers and combination of colors. Especially I have gotten hooked on the vintage inspired look of card making. There have been some very inspiring sites that I have been able to pull from for the inspiration behind these designs.

Peace and Joy

Wouldn't it be nice for there to be 'Peace and Joy' throughout the world. Love that thought. I just love the whimsy of the cute mittens. Also, must pat myself on the back, because this is my first attempt at sewing a card, and I DO NOT sew. I need to learn and practice more. Turned out darling.

Xmas Celebration

This is the invite I made for my parent's party. The first prototype was very simple, however my mome wanted all the traditional colors added with the added bling bling, so the final result I thought came out quite nice. Anyone who uses a lot of glitter, needs to have the xyron. It is the best and easiest way to bling bling your cards with that special added glitter. LOVE glitter.

My buddies

These cuties never leave my side. My Old English Buldogge has discovered a place he loves to relax. Right under my chair. Too funny! What a dedicated crowd!

Flea Market Display

Well, the flea market came and went. The weather was absolutely beautiful. Thankfully my cards were a success, and hopefully have some referrals. Here are just a couple of shots of the display.

New Blog

Hi everyone- I am just moving from my old blog bellacarte.blogspot.com. I wanted to create a name that had more of a connection for me. Bella and Lucca are the names of 2 of the 3 of my dogs. The other one is Louie, and as much as I love Louie, just didn't sound right; Bella Lucca Louie? Still love the little guy to death though. I hope changing blogs doesn't make everything too crazy. Thank you for your interest.

I am also going to be opening up an account at Etsy soon. I will enclose the details of that soon. Thank you again. Have a fabulous day!
